Chronology of cameras Houghton
This box is a Houghton Ensign 2 "1/2 box, covered with leatherette. Film format is 116.
Film loading is performed by raising two latches, which releases the right side that is removed and which incorporates the film holder.
The brass needle on the front panel controls the instant / time exposure modes by moving the high position of the trigger.
The aperture setting (f/32 to f/11) is carried out by a rotation of the brass disc in front of the lens; there is even a position 'dust cover'!
2019 update : many similarities with Butcher's No 4 Maxim suggest that this box is most likely the Houghton version of the Butcher Maxim No 3.
